The Media Express, July 6, 2017 - Throughout his long political career, Rudy Giulliani has spoken out against the Iranian regime. America’s mayor of New York during the terrorist attacks in 2001, Giulliani has repeatedly condemned the Iranian regime for its exporting of terrorism throughout the region and the world.
He has been supporting the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) for many years, encouraging the resistance in its efforts to gain international support. Prior to this year’s “Free Iran” gathering, Giulliani met with the NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi.
During his speech at the rally, Giulliani made a few key points regarding the policies of the Western nations toward the Iranian regime.
“It has been a long road and there are still a few miles to travel,” said Giulliani. “There have been over 120,000 that have been martyred and they are why we are where we are today.” He also complimented the leadership of President-elect Maryam Rajavi of the NCRI.
He also praised the combined efforts that allowed the MEK members to leave Iraq to Albania, thus getting them out of harm’s way.
“Now we can focus on something different…we have a different administration and a different set of principles and a different way of looking at the world,” said Giulliani. He praised Trump, noting that he is laser-focused on the threat of Iran to not just the region, but the world at large. According to Giulliani, a free Iran is the only way to have stability within the Middle East.
Giulliani noted that the Iranian regime tries to use propaganda to bring down the Iranian resistance, but he noted that the resistance stood for all the principles that were contrary to the current regime’s leadership.
“I don’t know when it is going to happen…but I know it is going to fall. I believe it is going to happen sooner rather than later, and that it will happen in my lifetime,” said Giulliani. He also praised the work of the resistance and noted that it was a hard road to get where we are right now. “We aren’t going to get to the next step without hard work, but we can see the world beginning to turn its eye on Iran,” said Giulliani.
He noted that there is no such thing as a moderate in Iran. Then he referenced Rouhani’s execution record throughout his first term as president. Giulliani also encouraged the international community to list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization to cut off its financial support throughout the globe.
“It is inevitable. Regime is going to happen…Maybe a few years ago, when they rose up and they had a leader that said we support you, then it might have happened,” said Giulliani. But he indicated that support is there now and that working toward regime change continues. He also noted that there is an alternative to the regime, a democratic alternative that is well organized and has popular support among the Iranian people.
“We no longer have some of our brothers and sisters stuck in Iraq,” said Giulliani, noting that he is happy that a free Iran is on the horizon. The government of the U.S. supports you and agrees with your ideals, and they will not allow Iran to become a nuclear power and take over the regime, according to Giulliani.
“The regime is evil and must go. Free Iran!” said Giulliani as he finished his comments.
