HELP HEAL THE WOUNDED
UNDER SIEGE IN ASHRAF

A horrific attack on Camp Ashraf by Iraqi Government forces in the early hours of 8th April 2011 has created a very critical situation for the many wounded.

As a result of this massacre, 23 men and women lost their lives immediately. Over 300 were wounded, 178 by gunshot. Many are in serious condition.

Eleven of the wounded died within 48 hours, raising the death toll to 34. Doctors report from Ashraf that most of these could have been saved had they received proper treatment.

Due to the effects of the continuing siege in restricting medical supplies, Ashraf hospital is unable to provide adequate treatment as it has no oxygen, or blood for transfusions, available.

Some of the wounded were taken eventually to local Iraqi hospitals, several hours after they were wounded, but were returned to Ashraf without having been treated properly, apart from six who died while in those hospitals.

One who died there was a young woman, Saba Haft-Baradaran (right). She had been shot in the leg and, had she received treatment, she would have survived. Sadly, she did not and so the attack claimed another victim.

There are still over 300 wounded men and women in Ashraf needing healing which it is vitally important for Ashraf hospital to be able to provide.

Please help us with a donation…

…to support a very important campaign to lift the restrictions imposed on Ashraf so that vital medical supplies can be received.

This will enable the medical staff at Ashraf hospital to Heal the Wounded from this attack.

This will save many precious lives and we will be very grateful for your support.

Iran Liberty Association is an independent not for profit organisation set up with the broad aim of promoting a respect for human rights in Iran, at the same time as assisting the victims of such abuses. It aims to campaign on behalf of, as well as provide support and assistance to those imprisoned or otherwise detained in Iran due to their gender, political, religious or otherwise consciously held belief. In particular, it will work to support and promote the rights of children, women and religious minorities who face systematic discrimination and brutal oppression.

Iran Liberty Association will also provide facilities, support and welfare to Iranian refugees who have been forced to flee Iran due to imprisonment, torture and even execution of friends and relatives.

This will include the provision of educational, health, counseling and general advice services. It will also provide similar support for those threatened with extradition to Iran, where they could face torture or other forms of inhumane and degrading treatment.

Through its activities, Iran Liberty hopes to raise awareness within the British public of the human rights abuses of the Iranian regime and its involvement in acts of terrorism worldwide, at the same time as making a real difference in the lives of the victims of the Iranian regime.

Iran Liberty Association will also provide facilities and assistance to other groups and organisations involved in promoting human rights in Iran.
