Camp Ashraf in Iraq: Spanish court investigates a close ally of Maliki
A Spanish court investigation is to include Faleh al-Fayad, security adviser to the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. This comes in the wake of a complaint filed against him as a person responsible for serious breaches of the Fourth Geneva Convention for his alleged involvement in the killings on April 8, 2011, and September 1, 2013, of protected persons under the Fourth Geneva Convention living in Camp Ashraf, according to the decision.

Iran: Political prisoner, Afsaneh Bayazidi, exposes medieval tortures in Khamenei’s prisons

In a revealing letter, Afsaneh Bayazidi, a Kurdish political prisoner and a student from Bukan who was sentenced to four years imprisonment and exile in Kerman prison by Mahabad’s revolutionary court on the charges of “propaganda against the system and insulting the Supreme Leader,” exposes a corner of the medieval torture by the agents of Iranian regime’s Intelligence Ministry in prison.

She writes in her revealing letter:

“I am Afsaneh from Kurdistan, a young Kurdish girl from the deprived Kurdistan region of Iran who was born in a poor stratum of the society and became familiar with injustice and oppression by this deceitful government.

“I have always tried to stay beside Kurdish people, the Kurdistan that is drowned in the quagmire of the Islamic Republic regime for 37 years.

“During the 90 days that I was in detention, they have tortured me with every possible methods and every means. In the first few days of detention, the torture was so much that I could not even walk. My feet and my back were bruised and turned black. I was beaten so much that my mouth and my nose were bleeding. They did not have an iota of mercy on me. I was under medical treatment for 15 days in the so-called clinic of Intelligence detention centre in Orumiyeh and I was one step away from death.

“During the interrogation, each time I called the name of God, they tortured me more. They constantly told me that there is no God in the Intelligence (detention center) and here God is sold per kilos.

“At least twice they hung me by feet and by hands for several hours. In all the time that I was detained and interrogated, I was either tortured or blindfold and my eyes are now damaged and I feel that I have low eyesight and dimness. For 4 years I have been having breath shortness, and they did not give me my (oxygen) capsule to torment me more and extract confessions.

“I was kept in Orumiyeh Intelligence toilette for 11 days and they would feed me there and they treated me with the worst abusive and evil acts that even animals are not treated like that.

“Every night the prison guards kicked the cell’s door where I was held so that I could not have any peace or comfort and every one of them called me a whore.

“I suffered the most brutal tortures in the Intelligence detention in Orumiyeh. It was hard for me to bear the tortures but rascality of the intelligence officers who had no honor hurt me more, that how I was being tortured by a worthless intelligence agent who speaks of Islam and has learned from a government whose leader is Ali Khamenei who is using the religion to deceive people.

“I was forced to make false confessions so that they could make cases against me and succeed in their inhumane tactics.

“I don’t have anything to lose. I was tortured and threatened with rape and imprisonment in exile and they did the worst tortures on me. I have no fear now and I am not afraid anymore so it is my right to explain the truth.

“Right now in Kerman prison I am denied any phone calls and meeting with my family and today a friend and a Kurdish sister did me a favor and helped me to send this letter out of the prison so that maybe I could tell you a corner of my pain and suffering and the story of my life and death.

“However, I should say that injustice and oppression will not remain sustained, but will soon be eradicated.”
